A well made fire door will help to contain a fire to
the area of origin by limiting the fire spread, will allow access to escape
routes without any loss of fire resistance and will help to limit smoke
movement in the rooms and corridors.
All fire doors supplied by DFL are therefore tested to British Standards BS476 : Part 22 : 1987
in single leaf, pairs and double acting fire door configurations. Fire
resisting doors normally incorporate a combination of intumescent strip
and smoke seal in the door or in the frame which expands when heated and
effectively creates a seal thus contributing to the integrity of the assembly.
To ensure compliance with building regulations you must
be satisfied that you will be able to obtain certificates before placing
an order. Therefore it is essential that you deal with a reputable company
which has the necessary technical expertise to advise you on the requirements
which apply to each of the individual door types which you are specifying
or ordering.
Veneers can be made to match panels, architrave and
other complimentary products. Real wood veneers are the natural choice
when specifying or creating a prestigious door.
We offer a wide variety of veneers with different grain
types and colours. Edge lippings and glazing beads can be made to compliment
or contrast with the rest of the veneer and these may be of a different
species whether additional protection is required on the leading edge
of a door. Lippings will normally be supplied concealed behind the veneers
but can be supplied exposed if required.
