Recreation & Leisure - River Court Hotel

The Kilkenny River Court Hotel is a three storey 90 bedroom Four Star Hotel, which David Flynn Ltd constructed on a very restricted site just off one of the main streets in Kilkenny and adjacent to the River Nore.

All the site had to be piled because of the poor ground conditions and the ground level had to be raised so that the Hotel was no longer within the flood zone. The contract itself was negotiated and despite the confines of the site there was an extremely tight programme. The project like the Belfry Hotel which we constructed at Conduit Lane also included the design, installation and commissioning of the entire plumbing, mechanical and electrical services.

The Hotel also has it’s own leisure centre with swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and gym, a design which was only finalised well into the construction phase. As you can appreciate with a development of this kind, the level and quality of the finishes required was very high, from marble floors to the main bar ceiling which is lit by thousands of optic fibres.
