Commercial - Retail Centres

David Flynn Limited were responsible for constructing or refurbishing the following Retail Centres:

• Clonmel Shopping Centre
• Waterford Retail Park
• Ardkeen Stores
• Georges Court
• Waterford Shopping Centre

The following is a brief description of Waterford Shopping Centre, Georges Court and Ardkeen Stores whilst the “Featured Projects” links on the left hand side will give you more detailed information on the other projects.

Waterford Shopping Centre     
This involved upgrading and refurbishing all of the existing shopping mall including replacement of all floor tilling in the shopping mall as well as the replacement of all shop fronts and ceilings. The contract also involved upgrading the external elevations and entrance porches as well as the provision of large glazed roof lights to the shopping mall.

This work was carried out in two phases whilst maintaining all shopping centre activities throughout.

George's Court Shopping Mall
This involved the renovation, alteration, extension and refurbishment of the existing shopping mall including the provision of large glazed roof lights and re-tiling all floors, carried out in 3 phases whilst maintaining all shopping mall activities.

Ardkeen Stores - Dunmore Road Waterford
Phase One consisted of constructing 20,000 sq. ft. of ground floor retail space and 10,000 sq. ft. of first floor shopping centre development and associated site development works.

Phase Two involved the Extension, Alteration and Refurbishment of existing retail units including a Doctors Surgery, Dentists Surgery and Bank whilst maintaining all shopping centre activities throughout.

Phase Three involved the demolition of the existing Shopping Centre and Petrol Station, construction of a new 10,000 sq. ft. Shopping Centre including Retail Units, Petrol Station and ancillary site development works. Petrol dispensing facilities were maintained for 22 weeks out of a total contract period of 28 weeks which involved carefully co-ordinating all construction activities in order to facilitate the safe access and egress of the public through the site.
